Bourbon Apple Galette

The easiest dessert you’ll ever make! Puff pastry is my go to for a quick summer dessert and this galette will not disappoint!

1 sheet puff pastry

1 large Gala Apple diced

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg

1/8 teaspoon All Spice

2 tablespoons Bourbon

1 egg

1 tablespoon coarse cane sugar

Pint of vanilla bean ice cream (optional)

Preheat the oven to 400 and lay parchment paper on a sheet pan.

Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the diced apple, cinnamon, nutmeg, and all spice and cook for 3 minutes. Add the bourbon and cook for another minute. Remove from heat.

Roll out the puff pastry and place on the prepared sheet pan. Pour the apple mixture in the middle of the pastry. Wrap all edges over the apple mixture. There should still be a small circle of apple uncovered in the middle of the pastry.

Whisk the egg in a small bowl with 2 tablespoons of water. Lightly brush the egg wash over the pastry. Sprinkle with the coarse cane sugar.

Bake at 400 for 25 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm with vanilla bean ice cream.
