Classic French Madeleines from the Kitchn

I have always had a love for Madeleines.  I have tried several different recipes and the Kitchn’s recipe for Classic French Madeleines is finally what I have been looking for!  My family came over for dinner last time I made these and everyone had 2-3 Madeleines! These cookies are definetly a crowd pleaser.

TIPS:

  • Do not overmix the batter after you add the melted butter.  Stir for a few seconds and wait for the butter to settle in before stirring again.
  • In my opinion, you can never have too much lemon zest when it comes to Madeleines.
  • You do have to buy a Madeleine pan but there are pretty cheap.  Amazon has some great options!
  • Best if eaten the day of but will stay fresh in an airtight container for 1-2 days.

TASTE: Buttery Lemony Goodness !

TIME: approx. 30 min. prep + 1hr to rest the dough + 13-15 min. to bake = Total of 1h45 min

TROUBLE: Little to no Trouble, just need to plan ahead to rest the dough before baking! And of course buy the Madeleine pan.
